NTP has initiated trials for a series of "Potentiator" products. This name - Potentiator - is our umbrella name to any of the products that we develop that allow other products to gain activity or become more potent. The initial testing showed that NutriLife, and AgBlend - sister products - performed well when tested in agricultural settings. The use of the Potentiator products with existing herbicides showed a 15%+ increase in weed control. The current research is to determine the effectiveness and mode of action of our Potentiator on these pesticides. Modes of action leading to improved pesticide activity being investigated are soil site activity / uptake and enhanced metabolic pathway activity. The increased activity will allow agricultural chemical companies to establish themselves as having a better product that gets a higher percentage of weed control, especially on tougher to control weeds. This "boost" as the scientists are referring to it, is exactly what is needed for many of the aging herbicides to retain life, and, more opportunistically for NTP, is the potential use against resistant weeds.

In addition to herbicides, it is believed that these Potentiator products could enable better insecticide control. As in herbicides, the insecticide market is similar in acreage, but is more often treated up to 5 times during the season, therefore increasing the potential amount of acreage opportunity for NTP. Currently, no tests have been performed however several agricultural chemical companies have shown an interest in setting up stage one testing to move forward in developing specific Potentiator products for their line of insecticides.
